Bordeaux and Nouvelle Aquitaine area

In 2007, Bordeaux was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list as “an outstanding urban and architectural ensemble” from the 18th century. The city was voted “European Best Destination” in 2015 and "World's Best City to Visit" by the Lonely Planet in 2017.

Bordeaux benefits from excellent transport links, including an international airport  with a number of low-cost routes, high speed rail links (2 hours from Paris in 2018) and a good road network (less than 6 hours from Paris, less than 3 hours from Spain).

Bordeaux is located in the New Aquitaine Region which offers a wide range of tourism, sport and cultural activities.

A list of recommended hotels  will be provided by the conference organizers. It is important to note that there are fewer hotels around the university campus than in downtown Bordeaux. It is therefore advisable to book early if you wish to stay close to the University.
